Book Picks for April

Okay, one of the first things you need to know about me is that I’m obsessed with books. I read (on average) 2 books a week. I probably would be able to read more if I didn’t work full-time, but hey, we need the income! The second thing you need to know about me is that one of my other great obsessions is happiness guru, Gretchen Rubin. I first read her book The Happiness Project two years ago and I fell in love with her books and her blog! Anyway, every month she shares 3 books with her readers and I wanted to do something similar. Every month I want to share 2 books for you to read. One will be about writing or a self-help type book, and the other will be a YA novel (I love love love YA novels that are written well!)

A book about writing:

Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life by Anne Lamott.

This book will make you laugh out loud and help you get your own writing process started. Whether you’re writing a novel, memoir, or even a blog post, this book is sure to help!

YA Novel:

Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner.

I just finished reading this book a few weeks ago. You’ll laugh and cry on the same page. Jeff has a way with words that will make you come back for more. This book deals with death, loss, coping with panic attacks, and so much more. You’ll love it, I promise.

This month I plan to finish reading Bird by Bird as well as re-reading A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury before the third novel in that series comes out in May. Now that we’ve moved and are getting settled into our new place I’ll have more time to read, and to take pictures for my Instagram account. What are you planning to read this month?

Love, Tay
